Ok I installed the update with all my patches installed. Everything works but some of the patches are broken after the update.
Here is a list:
Ad Blocker Add ThumbNav Controls Advanced Reset Options Disable Lock Screen Just Charge by Default Launch with Folder View Minimized (Mail patch) Mimic Outlook Formatting on Email Reply/Forward Muffle System Logging (Uninstalling this caused an error so haven't gotten it out yet) No Launcher Button Quiet powerd Messages (sic) Remove Dropped Packet Logging UberCalendar HD Unhide Dev Mode Icon Unset CFQ IO Scheduler Unthrottle Download Manager
So we just have to wait for the dev's to update them, other than that device feels much smoother even at 1.2Ghz stock comparable to the Uberkernel 1.5Ghz I was running before where as 3.02 at 1.2Ghz was sluggish at times.
The guy who sold this to me had given me a QA device (it was sealed though!) and it always allowed me pairing non-webos phones, and points to internal update site that gave me 3.0.4.77 weeks ago. But on the flipside the Angrybirds wasn't free and Box.net app doesn't download my files on the 3.0.4 touchpad :( Hope they give me a fix or I'll buy Gemini file manager to make it work.
Should we uninstall our modded kernel before installing this update? I have the F4 kernel installed (1.8 ghz overclock) And assuming we do so...I am guessing the steps would be to uninstall, then reinstall the stock palm one, and then do the update? Sorry for the noobish questions...
You don't have to uninstall anything EXCEPT make sure you remove any custom theme you currently have applied. It will update just fine like that. The F4 kernel you're using will probably have an update available in the next few days. I use UberKernel to take it to 1.5Ghz, it's pretty popular so I imagine an update will come sooner for that kernel than F4 - time will tell.
The rest of the Preware patches, if you have any applied, will be updated in the same way in the near future I would imagine. So far it seems that 3.0.4 @ only 1.2Ghz (stock) runs faster than 3.0.2 @ 1.5Ghz. Yours should be blazing once you take it to 1.8GGhz - assuming you have logging turned down to minimum.

It would be nice if the UI updates disabled all the logging so we could get better performance without all the preware patches.bupkus - Tuesday, October 18, 2011 - link
Can I upgrade, and if I do what will happen?Casper42 - Tuesday, October 18, 2011 - link
Will this finally add Bluetooth DUN support for non WebOS phones as well?I have PDANet for Android and it supports BT DUN but the TouchPad does not.
I wish PDANet had a Hiotspot mode.
